Oxford Whippets began in 1979 with my first Whippet, Ch. Merci Isle Back in a Flash, bred by Dianne French and Iva Kimmelman.  I bought him to exercise my Saint Bernards with.  Before Flash was finished, I purchased a female from Donna and David Lukasky, Ch. Spectre Wind Chime.  ”Windy” was bred to Ch. Runner’s He’s The Continental, and four puppies out of that breeding finished.  

Before I could breed her again, she died.  In my search for another bitch I met Lee and Deann Christianson.  That turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.  Lee and Deann had two lovely bitches which, at the time, were not available; however , in 1989 I leasedCh. Chelsea Saffron , also known as “Sissy” (Ch. Whippletree’s Raisin Cain x Ch. Spectre White Hot) from the Christiansons.  This lovely bitch was bred to Whippoorwill Moonstone, ROM.  There were several oustanding Whippets produced in this litter, including SBIS Ch. Chelsea Drakkar of Oxford, FCh ROMX(“Drake”),  Ch. Oxford’s Paloma of Chelsea (“Dovie”), and Ch. Oxford’s Passion (“Lizzie”).  “Sissy” has proven to be a great producer, and the quality has carried down through the generations.
